Print Medium Options & Descriptions

The quality and longevity you expect!

Most prints sold by Midwest Wilderness Connections© are printed using archival grade mediums and pigments to ensure you receive a quality product with the utmost longevity.

We offer the following print types, organized from the least to the most expensive options.

Economy Poster Print: Images are printed on paper that may not be archival grade. Prints less than 16" in width on the longest side are produced using a professional quality Epson ink-jet printing system with 10 archival grade pigment inks. Prints greater than 16" in width are printed with a professional quality ink-jet printing system that may not use archival based paper or inkWhile attractive, these prints are reduced in resolution, clarity, and brilliance as compared to other types of printing. Economy poster prints do not come with a frame or mounting hardware and may be shipped in a tube. To protect and keep the print from warping, customers are encouraged to have the print mounted upon arrival.

E-surface Photo Paper prints: This option is not available for prints smaller than 16" on the shortest size because an archival grade option is available at a lower cost (see giclee paper prints). Metal Print: Images are printed on a 1/16” aluminum sheet using a dye sublimation process. Metal prints are printed on a white base to enhance clarity and enrich colors. Prints have a glossy finish with a clean, frameless metal edge. If displayed in high-humidity locations, such as bathrooms, kitchens, or outdoors, metal prints are more resistant to water damage as compared to paper or canvas prints. Smaller metal prints include a metal easel. Larger metal prints include a float mount. Customers interested in a glare-reducing matte finish, rather than a high-gloss finish, should contact Midwest Wilderness Connections for pricing and to place a special order. Customers interested in a natural metal grain, rather than a white base, should contact Midwest Wilderness Connections for pricing and to place a special order. All metal prints are sent in a box using expedited shipping.

Acrylic - 3mm Face Mounted Print: As light passes through the frameless acrylic glass, these prints offer a luminous effect and sophisticated, clean lines. A photopaper print is face-mounted to 3mm thick acrylic glass at a significantly lower price than images directly printed on acrylic (see Acrylic 1/4" below). Acrylic prints are less likely to shatter than those on glass. This option is not as weather or UV resistant as an image that is printed directly onto acrylic. Small face mounted acrylic prints come with an easel. Larger face mounted acrylic prints include a float mount. As with all prints, face mounted acrylic prints should not be cleaned with chemicals, cleaners, or abrasive cloths that could damage the acrylic surface.

Acrylic Print 1/4": Images are printed directly on the back of clear, 1/4” acrylic glass with a layer of white screen print. As light passes through the frameless acrylic glass, these prints offer a luminous effect and sophisticated, clean lines. If displayed in high-humidity locations, such as bathrooms, kitchens, or outdoors, acrylic prints are more resistant to water damage as compared to paper or canvas prints. Acrylic prints are less likely to shatter than those on glass. The included picture hanging hardware consists of a French Cleat mounting system. As with all prints, acrylic prints should not be cleaned with chemicals, cleaners, or abrasive cloths that could damage the acrylic surface. All acrylic prints are sent in a box using expedited shipping.
